ALL THAT BURNT ALL THAT GLOW

Created by Youngsook Choi

All That Burnt All That Glow is a poetic, site-specific performance commemorating ecological loss and industrial history at the Brent Reservoir. Once built to power the Grand Union Canal’s fossil fuel trade, the reservoir is now a place of recreation, surrounded by greenery and home to local sailing communities.

This performance reclaims the water as a space for reflection, mourning, and healing—acknowledging its ties to both colonial expansion and community resilience. Sailors and voice artists come together in a shared ritual, blending Kurdish mourning traditions with somatic healing, breathwork, and smoke signals to mark the urgency of our climate emergency.
